ABOUT ELDERTLC

Picture
ElderTLC is a Phoenix based nonprofit distributing meaningful gifts to low income residents in neighboring senior care facilities during the holiday season. By distributing gifts, ElderTLC wants their recipients to know that they are remembered and their community cares. The holiday season can be a lonely time for many and the joy of receiving a gift, no matter how small, can make the holidays special.

Elder TLC Inc is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN Tax ID # 81-4206947). Donations are appreciated and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our target distribution is the greater and outlying regions of the Phoenix area. The senior care facilities and organizations are selected by the Board of Directors annually.

The collection of donations and purchasing of items are conducted year-round with the primary purpose to distribute these gifts during the holiday season. It is only with the help of our community that ElderTLC can bring joy to our neighboring senior care facilities.

TRACY SCHWEITZER, VICE PRESIDENT/FOUNDER
Tracy is part of ElderTLC because of her passion for elders. She was raised to make every day special and that holidays are an important part of life. For over 30 years, Tracy has been involved in nonprofits - board of directors, volunteering - and has been working in the corporate world for Fortune 100 companies.

SUE LEHMANN, SECRETARY
Sue began volunteering when she retired from a 40-year career in marketing research and moved to Scottsdale.  Having cared for family members in their final years, she saw that many Phoenix area seniors didn’t have local family members to lean on so she started helping with rides to doctor’s appointments and grocery shopping.  She has been volunteering with ElderTLC since its first year of giving.  Originally from Milwaukee, Sue has a degree in Psychology.

ANNE BETTIS, CHAIRMAN OF SHOPPING
Anne first met ElderTLC in 2017 and was immediately taken with the commitment of its founders and volunteers. Watching caregivers select “just the right gift” for their residents and knowing it may be the only gift they receive at the holidays brings her great satisfaction. Stretching the money donated to the organization to buy quality, much-appreciated gifts for low-income seniors presents a challenge she particularly appreciates meeting. She holds a Masters in International Management and enjoyed a long career in banking before retiring to devote her time to the community through volunteering.

AMBER NUGENT, TREASURER
Amber is the Treasurer for Elder TLC.  While at college in the UK Amber worked at nursing homes for the elderly. It was here she felt honored to be able to hear the resident’s great stories and funny tales, but also to witness how easily our elderly are forgotten, and how the smallest kindness can bring them so much joy.  Upon meeting Linda Stanciu and learning about the mission of ElderTLC, she was glad to be able to contribute. On moving to the USA in 2000 Amber worked in accounting and administration for her own company and others.
